Music was in the room before I was old enough to understand it.
My father was a professional jazz double bassist, and I grew up watching how a great musician listens: patiently, generously, always in service of the song. I was lucky enough to play alongside him and my brothers, and those moments weren't about performing.
They were about family.
It's where I first learned that music is something you share, not something you show off.
Now I get to find that same joy in music with my wife and our three girls, learning together to be present with each other rather than to impress.
Guitar became my home base, though my curiosity has always carried me further. I've done gigs around Perth, played on songs and albums, and now I serve as a music director at my church, where I've learned that the best music happens when people stop performing and start paying attention to who they're playing it for.
My taste is eclectic. I'm drawn to beauty wherever it turns up, in any genre, as long as a song has been made with care.
I've been producing for years, quietly, in the margins. Now I'm stepping into it fully, and FATHOM Studios is the result.
